I'm a firm believer that dreams are contagious. One man's dream can multiply to where those who love him are as eager and motivated to make it come true as he is. Here's the story~
This project has been a dream long before I came along, but now I can say, it's mine too. If you've never built a home that you plan to spend the rest of your life in, you can't begin to understand how humbling and awesome it is to experience. Yes, some say that it's one of the toughest things you'll ever do and they'll never do it again if they've tried. Until now, I see it differently. It's been amazing to love and learn and be a part of something this sweet. Here are a few photos of the progress so far, to give you an idea of the beauty, effort and strength behind our project.
is a place called home. And in the summer of 2009,
in a beautiful, proud space near the edge of the hill looking over that river valley;
after many, many endless hours of thinking, while continuing to work full time hours and juggle already hectic schedules,
and deciding, and determining the difference between needs and wants, and knowing what's important now and what can wait until later,
and planning; gathering and considering many others' opinions, and figuring out which ones to listen to and which ones to ignore,
and satisfying the neighbors' curiosity,
the well was dug,
and the Earth was moved,
to begin building the house.
Next time...digging.
